The school year is in full swing and Bingo the anti-litter mascot is ready to add some excitement to classrooms with a jam-packed litter-awareness programme. Book Bingo to visit your school today!

Keeping our communities clean is everyone’s responsibility and there’s no better way to spread this message than through the minds of Cape Town’s impressionable youth.

By sharing the anti-litter message through Bingo’s exciting programme, along with the Urban Waste Management Directorate’s Public Awareness team, local children are able to learn about a serious problem through fun and engaging activities.

Littering and dumping is a wide-spread problem across Cape Town, with the City spending more than R100 million each year to clear illegal dumping. By instilling the idea of pride and accountability in our youth, we can tackle the problem head-on.

By last November, Bingo had made over 600 appearances at schools, beaches and sporting events.

During the festive season, Bingo made a further 352 visits.

‘For the 24/25 season to date, Bingo has done 952 visits. We encourage the public to book him to help drive and share the anti-litter message in a fun, interactive way. Together we can keep Cape Town clean,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Waste Management, Alderman Grant Twigg.
